The short clothes are a critical clue. See his short story Bon Bon and the description of the devil. Knowing he was about to kill himself, Poe wore the clothes which were too small to identify himself as demonic. The book proves he murdered Mary Rogers. The book solves most of the Poe riddles and mysteries. Coincidentally, tthe authors acknowledge assistance from the museum. The reason I believe this is that Carbon Minoxide poisoning can cuase perment brain damage. Also it can cuase damage to the heart and Poe had a irragular heart beat. Other symptoms include weakness, dizziness, confusion, irritability, impaired judgement, loss of consiousness.
