Table from Edgar Allan Poe's Boyhood Home
Description:This American Queen Anne style drop-leaf table was used in the Richmond home "Moldavia," in which Edgar Allan Poe lived with his foster parents, John and Frances Allan. The piece is said to have been made by Mr. Allan's carpenters on his Goochland County, Virginia plantation "The Byrd." Neither home still stands today.
The table was given to the Poe Museum in 1921 by one of the Museum's founders, Mrs. Archer Jones.
