This is a limited edition print depicting a mouse dressed as Edgar Allan Poe as he appeared in the 1848 "Ultima Thule" daguerreotype, a copy of which is in the Poe Museum's collection. The piece is part of "The Mouseopolitan Museum of Art," a series of mouse portraits based on famous works of art.

The artist, Alan F. Beck, has won numerous awards and honors, including two Chelsey Award nominations, a HUGO Award nomination, and a "Body of Work" Award at LA Con IV World Con Art Show, Anaheim, California. He produces works using acrylic, watercolor, pastels, 3-D modeling, and image manipulation programs. Beck presented this framed print to the Poe Museum in 2009. In the letter that accompanied the gift, Beck wrote, "The painting was an homage to Poe, one of my favorite authors."
