Description:
This newspaper was edited by Nathaniel Willis (1780-1870). Willis was a Boston editor and publisher who established the newspapers Eastern Argus and Boston Recorder as well as the magazine The Youth's Companion. Willis was also the father of Edgar Allan Poe's friend Nathaniel Parker Willis (1806-1867). Poe worked as Nathaniel P. Willis's assistant at the Evening Mirror from October 1844 until February 1845.
