Description:
These ladies' kid white leather dancing shoes were purchased in London by Edgar Allan Poe's mother-in-law/aunt Maria Poe Clemm's future husband William Clemm on a visit to London in 1805. At the time, William Clemm was married to Maria's first cousin Harriet Poe. The shoes were given to Bridget Amelia Poe, wife of Jacob Poe, second cousin of Edgar Poe. They were donated to the Poe Museum by a Poe Family descendant Mrs. Steward Woodward.
