Gustave Dore, one of the most prolific and successful illustrators of the nineteenth century, created these hauntingly beautiful illustrations for an edition of Poe's poem "The Raven," published in 1883 by Harper & Brothers, New York. It was the only time the French artist Dore illustrated the work of an American author as well as the last set of illustrations he produced before his death. This edition reproduces all 26 of Dore's detailed, masterly wood engravings from a rare nineteenth century edition. The complete text of the poem is included. Paperback, 64 pages
